cattle to the slaughter

I made a trip to the panhandle of Texas this week. Just north of Borger I came across a huge cattle yard. I stopped in to ask permission to take a few photographs and let me just tell you the smell was amazing! (*coughs*) One of the nice folks working there told me that they can take up to 45,000 head of beef cattle there at any one time. That's a big operation - and if you live within the OK, TX, NM or CO area, you have probably eaten a hamburger or a steak that came out of this yard. Bon appetit!
